Did the search on the forum and came up with nothing.
We're moving to the Gold Coast on the 15th and are getting all our belongings / vehicles freighted. We're flying virgin to Brisbane and getting a couple of hire cars for a few days till our cars arrive but ...... there is a chance our things may be in storage for a while if we buy a house. So back on track, my dillema is do I run the risk of taking my corban with the chance of it being bounced at Darwin airport because it is 2 inches over the 3m limit? has anyone travelled with a 10' on Virgin domestic before without any hassles?
Was thinking of erring on the side of caution and taking the 9'6" Bonga but the coreban is too nice a board to leave in storage.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Just came back from Melb where I bought a paddle. The website said a 3m limit.
I work out 10' to be 3.04m

Have known people who took windsurfing gear with Virgin and was never a problem.

I flew 18ft masts with QF international with a 14ft boat and was all good.

Just need to pack it well, fragile stickers etc.

Good luck.

Yep took my wife's 10 foot Oxbow plus 3 other SUPs, 2 surfboards, spearfishing gear, camping stuff plus luggage to WA between 6 of us - no excess baggage.

Funniest bit was rocking up to Broome Airport and taking up half the area of the checkin room which is about the size of your dining room.

Virgin rule!

The only airline you really have trouble with is Crapstar with a 1.9m limit could'nt even fit my snow skies on the plane and if you are a kilo over they will charge you.

Thanks everyone, I thought i'd be ok with the 10ft but some airlines get a bit funny with the limit while others are cool about it. Will definately take the coreban with me, can't wait to get into some waves - nothing happening in Darwin and nearly 2 weeks since we were in Bali!!!

Before I forget, for anyone looking for a SUP friendly airline, Virgin were fantastic. We had a 10' Icon and a 9'5 Mana, paddles, a suitcase and carry-on luggage. they took the boards and paddles without a hassle, we paid no excess whatsoever as they gave us an extra 5kg each as we had sports equip and even upgraded our seats. All this for an online booking we made. The flight was a bout 3/4 full and Jodie thinks that it may have had something to do with the male staff member having a bit of a man-crush on me and how strong I was carrying those 2 big boards but hey - an upgrade is an upgrade!!!!!

A man was sitting in the bar at Mascot Terminal and noticed a really beautiful woman sitting next to him.

He thought to himself, "Wow, she's so gorgeous - she must be an air hostess, I wonder which airline she works for."

"I still call Australia home," he says to her.

She pulled away from him and gave an ice-cold glare..

"Obviously not with Qantas," he thought.

Hoping to pick her up, he leaned towards her and uttered the Delta Airline slogan, "Love to fly and it shows.."

She gave him a blank, confused stare and he immediately thought to himself, "Well, she obviously doesn't work for Delta."

A moment later, another slogan popped into his head, so he leaned towards her again and said, "Something special in the air."

She gave him the same confused look, and he mentally kicked himself, while scratching Singapore Airlines off the list.

He thought, "Perhaps she works for Thai Airways..." and said, "Smooth as silk."

This time, the woman turned on him and said, "What the f*ck do you want ?"

The man smiled, slumped back in his chair, and said, "Ahhhhh, Jetstar !!"
