Tomorrow (Fri) and Saturday are looking good for down-winders with 25 knots nor-noreast forcast tomorrow.. and 25 knots nor-norwest for Saturday..

Both good wind directions for a St Kilda to Sandy DW run.. and it's a good wind strength for those just getting into down-winders.

We plan to meet at Sandy tomorrow at 10.30 for an 11am start at St Kilda.

DJ

Forecast for Friday
Winds: North to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots reaching 25 knots at times during the morning. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres increasing to 1.5 metres during the morning.

Yeah.. It's still on and I'll see you there.. .. Anyone else keen?

Today's DW'er was great with good wind and we had lots of long runners.

Today the 14' Lahui Kai and the 14' Naish Glide were pretty even in speed.

Hey DJ,

I forgot to tell you, that on New Year's Eve when it was n/nw gusting 30 knots [ and it was 38 degrees!], that Adrian from RPS did an epic, solo DW mission from Elwood to Bonbeach on [ or in] the Starboard K15. When you're in the shop next time, you should quiz him about it. It took him 3 hrs 45 mins.

Are you serious ??? That's the same distance as Papahaku Molakai, to Waikiki Oahu. 56km, or about 35 miles. You'd be lucky to even get a Nor' Easter to stay on track for 5 or 6 hours. Let alone dealing with the currents down at Portsea, unless it's an ebb tide.

With more rain forecast (plenty more), and uncertainty on when the Sou' Wester is coming through, I'm not making the trip to Melbourne tomorrow.

It was blowing it's tits off in Torquay during the night. Seems to have backed off and gone West now.
