I was thinking about using those little pieces of cork with the self-adhesive backing you can buy on eBay for a deckpad and was wondering if anyone into sup surfing is using them? Is cork grippy/sticky enough to shred? And how about comfort as compared to normal rubber deckpad?
Thanks
Anyone?

Nah mate...not using cork...however
Just took delivery of a sixty foot roll of two inch 3M light duty clear tread grip tape...gotta love Amazon!!
Used to use this stuff a few years ago when I was riding a Bonga and then the Uberfish. Ran it down the rails and it was bomb proof. It would chip your paddle before you'd chip your rail. Took a while to realise how much skin it was taking off as I was hauling myself back onboard after a wipeout...seriously grippy. In fact its primary purpose is to give grip on wet surfaces like showers, baths and boat decks. Had some left over and put it on the deck of one of my short boards and it worked a treat...no wax and clear finish, looks great. For some reason hardware stores in Oz dont stock it anymore so I had to order some from your neck of the woods.
I gotta new seven four arriving this week and apart from a tail pad with a kick bar I'm looking at running strips of grip tape up the board through the heavy traffic areas.
I guess cork would serve the same purpose but given the amount you would have to use and its potential for holding water or crumbling...I dunno!
Good luck with it anyway and whatever you do dont' forget to post some piccies!
Cheers
