Most of us use 5 minute Araldite for gluing our paddle handles on but I've been annoyed with these double syringe dispensers that Araldite use.

It's important that you get equal parts to mix together and these stupid dispenser often don't work like they're supposed to.

You often get air come out of one side.. or one side is thin and runny and the other side much thicker.. It's rare that you get equal amounts.

What I do is cut the dispenser at the end of the plunger so that each side can be used separately so you can always get equal amounts.

I used this one the other day and you can already see how different the ends are showing what I mean.

I use the little tubes. They're easier to measure and they keep better with a screw cap.

Good tip DJ, I manage to get equal parts but sometimes means you have to squirt out extra than what you really need.

Can I buy them pre-cut from Naish? Is that what the big logo means?

Thanks for the tip DJ

Didnt even see the logo until I read the posts below.

I thought DJ was doing a reverse psychology pimp of a adhesive

Gee a couple of posts below DJs did a good job of subconcious advertising just by retyping brand x.

Gota love the free plug

Shiny silver plastic duct tape holds the handle on a paddle as well as you could want.

As you tape it you do a few figure-8 turns around the top of the handle. The wrinkles that form make a 3D ribbed shape that is super strong and provides tactile feedback. (Ribbed for your pleasure and sensitivity. )

Pretty ghetto. But if you're going to do that, another trick is to heat it to make it melt together. Old ski bum trick for repairing holes in waterproof outerwear - duct tape it then a paper bag (so it doesn't stick) then iron it on. I use the melty trick often, e.g. did a shoelace tip the other day, hold it up to the gas stove burner until it melts, won't ever want to come off.

Yep. Duct tape is great stuff. You should try it instead of wax next time you're tidying up your bikini line.

If some of you guys think that showing the Araldite on a Naish paddle has anything to do with pimping for Naish.. GET OVER IT.

I was gluing the handle on my new Naish paddle.. If I was doing it on a Kialoa it would probably shown it on a Kialoa paddle.. Or a friends Werner or Starboard paddle it would probably be that.. AND THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT.

If you think, that I think, that showing my mod to some Araldite (with a paddle brand behind it in shot) is going to make people rush out and buy a Naish Paddle you've got to be kidding.

It was a sper of the moment thing to grab my camera and take a pic so I could share what I thought was a good idea.. I thought for maybe 2 seconds where I could put the Araldite so it would show up well in the pic.. I took two shots because the first showed the Naish logo sideways and it looked odd when I viewed it on the back of the camera so I took another with the logo straight.. just to make the pic look nice and neat.

I don't know why I've even gone to the effort to try and explain because I don't really care what some of you guys think.. Well maybe just a little.. because I think you're wrong..

btw.. I just had a bad night at work.. .. and tomorrow I'll probably wish I'd kept quiet about all this.. .. Maybe you guys are just messing with me.. and maybe I'm just in a bad mood..
