So eight of us, 1 x SUP rider and 7 x Short boarders (x 24 boards) set off from Perth - via KL, Medan and eventually 20 odd hrs. later we're being briefed on the protocols of life aboard the Seriti with our hosts and owners Mick and Suzuki, along their team of four very competent crew. Now the Seriti is not what I would term luxurious accommodation, but very comfortable and stacks of room for all to co. exist. Our food was great, always plenty of it... and nobody got sick
Banyak's translates as Land of many Islands, hence plenty of solid and consistent surf breaks to suit all aboard the good ship Seriti!
Mick and Suzuki sourced this vessel and prepared it for chartering within an extremely tight time frame as their former vessel the Salijna was accidentally trashed on a local slipway! In turn I feel we were lucky to get a berth at all... had they not chosen to push ahead - which probably would have been a whole lot easier, also considering that when this all happened Micks wife had just given birth to their first child, then Salijna which was badly damaged but salvageable was set on fire where it stood to the point of being worthless!
I sincerely believe that with all these guys have endured they now deserve a break! So if you want maximum bang for your buck, checkout www.surfbanyak.com... and share in a unique surf destination with an awesome team
