Heading south to Merimbulla and considering 2 to 3 nights at Batemans Bay.
Any suggestions for the odd SUP session if I am allowed?

go to bawley point and then paddle to the next headland to the north. on the tip of it is a right and left hander that produces fat waves that occasionally barrel and run into each other making for some big ramps. If you go there when its four foot and hit one of those sections coming at you I guarantee you will set a record for the biggest sup air, on any board, of any size. The ramps out there will probably get a tinny launched. There's heaps of little fat waves round balwey on the mini headlands. There is a fat hander about two points down from the main point at bawley. Dude, there's so many good waves down there.....it is pretty much the best place in Australia for how many good waves are in the small distance from bawley to batmens....heavy but

You could try Broulee/Mossy Point there are a few waves work in different winds and swells

Nope it never ever breaks down there, absolute waste of your time to even stop in......... and dont even think about the moruya rivermouth, especially the south side car park, that never ever gets good, nope never. I heard that at times its like flat for 6 months and then it may get a little 1 foot wind slop.

Epic sponger world down there, I have a very vivid memory of standing in knee deep water as a double overhead below sea level heaving beast unloaded on top of me- I really wasn't sure if I would survive but actually came out unscathed- I realised then why they call that particular spot number 2's as I just about had one in my wetty

Not really a sup spot that one infact I only ever saw other spongers out there

For any locals down there how many noah's do you spot. I went down there on an epic surf trip in 95 and it was classic I remember great A frame pits. Crazy sharky paddles. The merimbula river mouth. Camping on the moruya airport. Waling up to stonking A frames both ways. A crazy night at the local fish and chips shop where the local lady of the night was entertaining a gentleman upstairs and went at it for ages. She liked to entertain in full view of the chippe down stairs. It was hilarious. Great days.
