Last year it was from the north side if salt restaurant into Cott, however I heard that this year they had extended it to the very southern end of the beach launching right down near the break wall. By my calculations that only stretches it out to just over 5km at best.

Don't know if it possible but if there is enough interest we could put a case forward to do the full 17km

At the moment the course is set to start at the little beach just south of Sandtracks (just north of Rous Head Harbour), gives it a bit more length than last year and brings it a little west to make it a bit more direct downwind, hopefully.

Hi, what is the best sort of board for the Bay to Beach, I have a Naish 9,5 mana and am wondering if it will be OK. Thanks.

The best board you got is the best board . If all you got is a 9'5 Mana then that is the best board for you.

You probably wont break records on the Naish (or maybe you will ) I started out on my 10 ft Starboard and had a ball. Didnt win but got me hooked.

Just get out and get wet

Hopefully there will be some following wind swell so you might even find it easier on a Naish 9'5 than some of us on tippy race boards! I have a race board (new 71 carbon 14) but not feeling overly confident on being able to paddle it quickly on a downwinder yet.

Surprised not to see you at the classic Reagan, you joining us for the B2B?

Yeah wanted to do it but a combination of having a road bike race on the same time and lack of water time meant i deferred the start of my racing season
