Im just starting, and went out on the south side of Cottesloe groin with the rest, but the reef is pretty shallow.... for now at least. Any recommendations for learning surf between Cott and Port beach without worrying about reef vs face.
go to any of the northern beaches on a day that is small (.5m or below), with light offshore winds. you can get waves to yourself on a sup just by paddling a bit further than where the congested shortboard areas are and not have to worry about submerged dangers if you fall.
Hey Maramusa, I recommend Brighton Beach (just to the south side of Scarboro). Small waves, sand bottom, no reef or bommies, plus you can easily get away from any crowds. A really great fun wave, I laugh myself silly every time I go there. Cheers Mottman
