people get very precious about divulging surf spots on this forum. Funny really given that nearly every spot on the metro coast except those offshore and only accessible by boat are widely known. perth in summer is pretty flat 80-90 percent of the time. try the beachies to the north and south of secret harbour away from the short boarders. its a long stretch of beach, best to try the far comers either north of secret harbour towards port kennedy or south around golden bay. usually closeouts but there is often a few deeper banks that are too full for anything but a sup. the carparks around scarborough are a chance. Once again stay well clear of shortboarders. If you haven't come from a surfing background read the articles about surf etiquette and learn the drop in rule.

find a uncrowded point break so you can paddle around it in flat water

or when its small waves , a beach with heaps of banks so you pick a crappy bank with a big rip next to it that no one is surfing . then you can paddle out in the relatively flat water of the rip and practice surfing the crappy bank in less crowds.
