I where Oakleys when I'm paddling downwinders/flat water ,even though I fine them to be the best fit and I've got a few pairs the all fog up while I'm paddling.

Just wondering if anyone has the Oakley Racing Water Jacket Glasses and there opinion on them or anyother brand breezers might suggest.

Cheers

Hey Boylos. I grabbed a couple of pairs of Ocean sunglasses which work just as well as my Oakleys. I've used both styles in the surf and whilst fitness paddling and i think they are great!

Cheers.

The Oakleys are no better than the cheap ones. I have both and I never use the Waterjackets because they are not very good.

They all fog up if you get too hot.

The best are the Kurtis surf googles but they are expensive at $200. They sit well away from your face so they are well ventilated and they are easy to get a finger in to wipe if they get wet or for up.

The best thing is to buy a pair of cheapie surfing sunglasses for about $40-50. Use them and abuse them and replace them when they get scratched or lost. Sea Specs do 3 pairs for $100. You can get the same glasses with a different brand on them for $40 a pair from ebay.

You should clean them thoroughly before use and make sure you don;t get sunscreen on the lenses.

Coatings like RainX don't work on plastic sunglasses. Anti-fog waxes work a bit but everything will fog up if the water is cold and you are warm.

without question Oakley Water Jackets are the best*.

the holes along the perimeter of the lenses help with fogging, but even then they still fog a bit.

have been using them since they first came out, have lost a few pairs mostly late arvo in indo big swells, and being thumped kitesurfing. they are hard to come by now, and i've only seen black ones for sale, the safety yellow ones were easier to see when they came off.
the last pair i got i found on ebay from the uk. polarised are better for suping.

not cheap but

*servo sunnies in reality are probably just as good

I'm a big fan of the Oakley 'EyePatch' .. I've got a few pairs now with different lenses.

I don't loose sunnies any more now that I make my own strap and float.

Why would you need sunnies in NZ - the sun has only shone twice there since 1976
