Hi all, some great wave up here. We watched the Longboard semis on the dropping tide and it looked exactly like Kirra, guys getting barrelled left right and centre.

By the time the quarters of the Sups started it got TOO low and was washed out by the current as is evidenced by the low 2nd round scores. Still made for interesting surfing with some below sea level drainers running accross the bank.

Me and Casso had shockers - I got a 4th in mine (3 thru) so have to sit out Sat's semis, which will have massive waves if they can run it

Anyway it has been a blast, great to see all the international crew (15 in all) and the vibe has been terrific.

Even the great MR hung around and watched al the 1st round SUP heats.

Guys ripping are Keahi, Billy Watson. Dogman and Appsy had cracker first round heats as well.

Hey Phil, Kristi got one great wave in her heat, just needed a back up, did ya proud!

Anyways I think I will hit the pool with a coldy, see ya

Sounds also like the conditions were pretty tough, but everyone had great fun.

Also sounds like the crowd was loving it from the people I have spoken to.

I want to see the Doggie shreading it up in 6 - 8 ft on Saturday

for those that actually surfed today would realize the conditions varied from heat to heat. 2nd round was a nightmare low tide sweep fest!

Hey AA and Goatie,

Kristi was just stoked to be there in the first place, to get one wave was her game plan and when I saw the 2.9 come up well it was awesome.

The thing she said she remembers most was the number of people encouraging her with little tips and pointers and then again even in the heat on the water. Thats what makes SUP so special the vibe.

JB Mel thanks heaps for your support yesterday as well.
