Profile 6.1 107kgs (probaly 110 with wetsuit)

Rode a few boards on the weekend to try and find a good wave board. Tried Naish 9.6 quad (it sank), PSH 9.6 wide allrounder (borderline sinking) could master if I was an athlete.

I have ridden 9.8 Starboard superfish and 10.5 STarboard Drive. Supefish was very wave friendly and easy to catch waves, still a bit stiff, however with some different fins Im sure you could fix that. The SB Drive was to stiff for what I was after.

By now I was loosing faith, so I resorted to my knowledge of surfboards and started focussing on volume and board outline. The SB Whopper 10.0 x 34" wide stood out. It has good rocker, excellent outline, and looks like it is easy to use. Took the risk and went an bought one.

One Word ---- AWESOME. Big guys, dont let the width scare you, this board turns on a dime. I was surfing small 2 ft waves with sucky walls. I could pump this board like a short board and rip a cutback with ease.

This board is insane. Be happy to give Big Guys on Nthn Beaches a run if they want.

There's 5 out and about in Sydney these days. The big boys are going to rip it up on those things.

The Shartster has the fancy sport tech version Matty Boy. Beautiful looking beast.

Are you thinking about coming along to the Sydney Club events Shartster? The more the merrier.

Sam.

Glad your having fun and loving it Um I dont think 34" should be too much of a problem , its not 34" wide at the tail and thats where all the turning happens

I Like the sounds of that new board Shartster, I tried a couple of sups before I got a second hand Naish 11'6 from WindSurf 'n' Snow in Collaroy for a great price. (top service, let me try it before I bought it) I am loving learning how to ride it in the surf and flat water of Nelson Bay with the 'BOMB Boardriders' crew (Birubi and One Mile Beach) all three of us. I have ridden Mals for years and weigh in at a mere 112kegs and saw this as my only chance to get some balance. I love it on the waves (like an old school mal) but the volume is a handful when taking a beating getting out and my outer reef leggie gets a workout. (Maybe some handles would help) Your board looks a good step once I have a bit confidence with suping and I will put it in the memory banks.

Cheers, Spiro (newbie)

No, a 10'6 Naish and 11'4 I think Southpoint and one other I cannot remember the size and name(some type of fish shape around 10'). Didn't have much to try out here where I live in Medowie so I had a go of my mates boards. My mate picked up the 11'6 for me on a work trip to Sydney.

Hey sepirott glad your enjoying the SUP stoke.
Let me know next time your going for a paddle with the BOMB crew and I'll try and join you out at the local.
Been doing a bit of SUPing out in the bay on my pat malone, hope to get out and about in some of the rollers off the sandbanks in preparation of the next big swell that starts the heads firing [}:)]

Hi WW, no worries mate on the catch up. This weekend looks more like a mal/short board wave for us but we usually do both if the conditions allow. We have done the sandbanks in the middle of the bay once a couple of weeks ago in the bigger swell, it was a mission as conditions weren't quiet right but we still had some really long rides. It is a 4 km round trip though to the break so we had to time the tide right and even so it ended up an over 5km trip on the gps. We are always out for the early at Birubi and One Mile guts then off to Michels at the Bay for the coffee infusion. I have the white Rav4 with Bomb Boardriders on the front window, come say hello.

Hi Guys,

Dont discount the PSH 10'6WideAA for the big brudda its a weapon. The primary stability is excellent and with a pc7 inside foil fin thruser setup it rips.

I have had guys that ride 12ft x 31 lairds step straight onto this board and they dont want to give it back lol!

PS Mine maybe up for sale soon as I live on the 9'6wideAA. I am looking a something special for a replacement!

Phill
