This was last night......

Now, when you consider that 54 knots is 100km, that's a lot of wind blasting down the Bay!!

Went to the physio Monday night after my little post-d/winder nap, and she's managed to completely stuff my back.
So I'll be hiding under my bed looking for my paddle today.
Have fun...

Mmhh that is interesting, done a few DW runs last few days and had a mate on a new glide and he struggled with it, he is even talking about getting rid of it already.

Wish I had stayed a few days longer, I could get used to those DWers and I'd imagine it would be easy to do a 20k one or whatever length one you wanted.

Still I had a surf today in a light offshore so gotta be happy with that.

Let us hear more! - I've done 3 downwinds on the new 2014 Glide but never had more than 20knot ave windspeed so still need to see how it goes in the bigger stuff....so far I'm really impressed with how easy it is in terms of stability and steering whilst on a run. You have to ride this board with the nose just above water at all times. This means keeping nose up by stepping back at the right time. Like most dwd boards it does not like engaging the nose as this causes a slowing down which means you may miss the run - having said that, you can engage nose without it throwing you off - so it's easy enough to save a penetrating nose, it's just not that efficient to run with the nose under water. The bigger the runs get the easier it gets as you can catch runs from standing quite far back - but really need to try in 35knots+ - hence the first comment!!!

I was thrilled to hand over the 2014 Glide 14 GX to DJ to christen!

Looking forward to his DW edit from today. I'm sure we'll see it in a few hrs, once he's finished work.

A few of us did the earlier run into HMB and got a dead set straight tailwind right into the bay! Amazing.
I almost surfed a runner straight into and up the boat ramp!

I will be interested to see DJ's clip of your run this morning. I only had time to do Green Point to Rickets at 11:30am - was a fun run with some pretty good runners. I see from PTWoody that it was gusting to 50 knots at 11:00am, so no wonder I needed help getting my board off the car in the carpark at Green Point)

I've almost finished my vid from yesterday.. (Big Wednesday)..

I rushed it a bit and just picked some bits out.. I'm sure a gust hit me so hard from behind it got me planing without a bump... That's serious wind.. .. or maybe it's the new shape Glide..
