Kristi is going to put the Hobie Colin McPhillips 7'11 x 29.5 x 4 SUP through some hoops over the next few weeks.

Small waves, onshore, clean waves, biggers waves and see how it goes.

Tonight there were a few 6 inch peelers and we had 20 mins before dark so time to see how it goes in small waves.

Hey Towny,

Kristi isnt sponsored by Hobie, she just wanted to try the board out in lots of different conditions as we had heard they were great for kids and women. People are going to think its a pimp no mater what, so why not call it a pimp!

If its in the title no one can say they didnt know!

Cant wait to see how it goes big onshore and in in 3 to 4 ft!

If DJ says it's not a pimp, then it's not a pimp. I've been told he knows a lttle about them. I personally don't know anything about it. However, I do wish I was 40 kg lighter and 20 years younger cause that board looks wicked. Interesting assessment of wave height. It means I'm only two feet tall not to mention my now minus value of a certain part of all male's anatomy. Keep up the great vids Phill.

I've had a good look at the 7'11".
At 105 litres Hobie have produced a hot rod for the lighter supper.
I am sooo jealous!
The 7'11" has the same rocker, concaves and rails as the
8'11" but remarkably a different planeshape.
These boards will make you drool.(if only I wasn't a fat old dude)
Me and you Phill will have to just watch the lucky ones and
ponder what could have been

I also have checked out the 7'11" and the 8'11" side by side and the differences i saw was that the 7'11" had a more pulled in nose, same tail shape, wider middle, similar rail shape and slightly more tail lift than the 8'11". The 7'11 had the same tail lift as the Hobie 8'6" CP Torque series.
Definitely an awesome looking board, best looking out of the whole Hobie CP range IMO. If you are 85kg and under and a good rider, this board would be a goer!

Hey Jason,

If this board is a pop out I would love to see a custom the single concave into deep spiral V is radical!

We played around with fins this evening and set it up as a thruster using a fin box adaptor it made a huge difference to how tight and arc it can pull.

swell is up for the weekend so we have a few ideas.

I saw the 9'6 Torque in the showroom with the flyer tail I think that would be the Hobie I would like best easy to pick out my drool is all over it

I got back on my 9'4 for a session the other day, I was like a hooker in 7inch heels but god it was fun!

Might have some more vid after the weekend.

Say tuned

Phill

Who give a rats about pimping!

As long as it's not done by someone pretending to be the random breezer.

You'll never see me doing it unless it's irrelevant to SUP.

I've been watching Christie (thru videos) and my wife progress their surfing as boards get better and better for women these past few years.

Based on this short clip, I think that board is too big for Christie and might actually hurt her progress. It looks slow and too big for her weight.

My wife's surfing is better than ever on the 7'3 Hokua and she's stable as a boat in dry dock at 56 kg. Just be careful going too big.

Keep up the great work. I enjoy watching women rip like the men.

Hey NC I have found its always worth checking out all opitions.

We have to drop the 7'11 back for the Melbourne Boatshow display on the weekend, gonna go and check out some diving gear and a few other toys at the same time.
