There's another option called.. 'The big hook'.. or something like that.. but I've not seen them here.

Here's another option that just uses two tie-down straps and an old shoulder strap.. It leaves one hand free in case you get an itch..or need to pick..

I think someone on the zone suggested using bike handlebars ,you know those old racing bike ones that look like cow horns . Thread on some rubber tubing hook the two pointy ends round the board and carry from the middle where the bars would normally go through the steering head thingy .

Yeah.. I know.. .. It seems like years ago when I took those pictures.

I did have other shoulder straps off other bags.. They're often those things that you throw away and never use but the others were pretty skinny.. but still work ok.

That Naish shoulder strap is off the Naish board bag.. It's a beauty and really good because it's so wide, padded and cumfee on your shoulder..

Here's a nice picture showing.. 'The Big Hook'.. and some may be thinking.. More PSH pimping..

Yeah thought about putting my own handle in, but i'm kinda lazy so the other thing looked a good easy option, any tips or direction on how to go about putting a handle in, for start, where can i get one.

I've used DJ's simple system. I live about 300m from the shore, and don't wanna use the car. Carrying my previous 10' Laird was too much strain on my back and shoulder after a few days.

So, I got a Mule carrier posted over from USA. That's using two tail wheels and a nylon nose piece. It works well. Yeah, it gets looks, but that's ok.

Now that I have a lighter 9'3" Naish, DJ's system might be ok for the 600m round walk. But then again, I'm pretty tired after a session, so I think I'll stick to the Mule.

I got a board carrier sling called a Big Board Schlepper. Stuffs into its own bumbag when finished. Good as you don't have to leave it on the beach while on the water. Take it with you.

Haven't seen many around, but found it at www.paddleshop.com.au

Board handle holes are ok for getting in and out of the water quickly but useless for long carries. The weight of the board is on on your fingers and my arm gets pumped after 50-100 metres.

I've got a Big Board Schlepper and it works ok. It's a bit complicated and it's a hassle when the board is wet. If you rest the board on the sand you get sand stuck to the straps which can scratch your board and they can slide around the board when wet.

The simplest is to get a length of webbing, tie (or sew) a small loop in each end, pass the webbing back through the loops and you have an instant self tightening shoulder stap that will fit in the pocket of your boardies.
