Has anyone put a windsurf style breather screw on their SUP?

I recently have had a ding repaired on my trusty 10'6 FWS Fanatic and the guy that is repairing it is having trouble getting it to seal without breathing through the repair...no biggy, hot weather is probably the factor for this,

Would it be worth getting a breather screw put on this board to help the hull breathe when I am not surfing it?

Shop says its a different core to a windsurfing board, so may not be necessary,

Anyone have experience with this sort of issue?

I reckon all manufacturers should install them. There was a post here recently about sups delaminating after only an hour or so sitting in the sun on a hot day.

Sups are a big investment. Better to be safe than sorry.

Tip: use a small smear rubber grease on the O-ring.

The custom boards I have all have breathers.

You would be amazed how much air is expelled out of them on a hot day and for how long.

If the breather is the gortex type be carefull it seals well or you will get water inside the board.

Ive got a breather on my new chinese "popout". Besides learning to paddle it, remembering to tighten/loosen is the next skill I need to learn.
