Would anyone be interested in a group paddle from Mowbray Park on a Saturday or Sunday morning. It is a buzz going under the Storey Bridge and chasing river cats. Surely there has to be some other city SUPers.........Stand up and be counted

Hi,

I go for a paddle most mornings on the river starting from under the story bridge.

Even caught a few waves off the sandy point under the bridge when the tide is going the opposite way to the river cat!

Happy to join along.

PM me your contacts

Cheers

Hmmm Brisbane River, world renowned for bull sharks... Can't say I ever ventured into the murky brown when I lived up there.

Nah, he doesn’t win.

If you add up all the rowing, sailing, water ski, outrigger canoe, kayak clubs that use the river on a daily basis the numbers of recreational river users is substantial,

Recorded number of shark attack fatalities in Brisbane river = 0 Number of attacks = 1. A kid was bitten on his finger once up at the Ipswich stretch of the river.

Not exactly “world renowned” statistics

(Mind you not keen to be the first so try to make sure I don’t fall often when I am playing on my SUP on the river!)
