Hi,
I had a generous wipe out today and my QB paddle cracked about 2/3rds of the way down the blade (almost across the centre). Can I have my blade removed and replaced? (I'm near the northern beaches sydney). Or do I need to purchase a new paddle? Any advice you have is appreciated.

Cheers!

You should be able to buy a new blade and once you've got the shaft out you should be able to glue the old shaft into a new blade.

Contact Andrew (AA) at Balmoral Surf and see if he can help you with a new blade.. www.balmoralboards.com.au/

Send me a PM if you need and advise with the repair.. Welcome to the Breeze..

Hi Tagan, yes all the parts can be replaced on a Quickblade paddle.
Sorry to hear about your wipeout! Hopefully it was a decent session!!

There is a fault with the QB's at that part of the blade. Went to a demo day at ESS awhile back and all of them broke at that same spot? Obviously a manufacturing fault AA? This deterred me from buying the QB and instead got the Kialoa which I am quite happy with.

Hey Jon, we had a customer who was at that demo day come in-store the next week.

He came by to tell us that he saw a number a couple of people pushing off sand banks with the paddles and breaking them. We were surprised he took the time to come by and tell us this, but he was concerned that the paddles were getting a negative wrap for the wrong reasons.
He bought a Quickblade of us that day.

I was not at the demo day but the dealer acknowledged that there were sand banks in the area and this does happen. Pushing of sand with a carbon paddle can cause fracture lines that can fail later when under stress.

Other than a few ELITE blades earlier this year, there has been no manufacturing issues with Quickblade blades or shafts. In fact QB has one of the the lowest return rates of any paddle I have sold.

You cant go wrong with a KIALO, either.

The best thing always is to ask the owners of the various paddles for the broader picture of how these paddles hold up.

They are not gondola poles and will break if abused.

Had my QB forover a year now and have givin it a flogging in the surf.....still in perfect condition....I have heard of 2 QB failures but these were both due to owners not looking after them ie leaving them in locked cars in summer, back of utes to fly around etc etc

I'm happy with my QB, I just had a shocker and zigged when I should have zagged. Thanks for the advice. It's pretty much sorted.

Cheers.
