The patient is in good health at Doctor Mark's It won't be ready for this weekend's Maliko race but it will be ready next week. There was some cracking in the Carbon Fibre but the delamination around the wrinkle was minimal--about three inches on either side. This is one stout board. I doubt many would have survived being caught inside at Spartan's reef in one piece. spartan's is a popular tow-in spot that holds a huge wave, a little brother to Peahi (jaws).

The guys at the Ding King are very pro, they've removed the damaged glass and CF and will reinforce the damaged areas to make it as strong as it was. We're going to hold off on painting the bottom until after the showcase and the next few races so it can be ready to go.

It's heartbreaking to see such a fine board damaged, but Mark says it will be as good as new.
