I would hate to stand on that knot!
All my current boards have hand holds and the only problem I have is with the 8'6. When the waves are a bit slow and you are a little forward on the board for better trim.
I have felt the hand hold 3 times but not actually put my toes into it, why would you?
The hand hold is a little longer than usual on this board because the four fins weighted the tail a bit more than usual. The hand hold was too far forward with the first cut out.
