Apparently Ive already voted, so i shared that with my 550 odd Internet friends who i don't really know on "the facebook", should get a few votes IMO.

phil i was not having a dig at you...i just dont get how someone can win a competition based on how many votes you get.....seems more like australian idol than surfing imo. i think its pretty crappy that some grom will not win because they they are not the cool kids and this competition is not based on talent. seems like a very shallow award to be trying to win...each to their own i guess

I didn't take it that way at all, I do my fair share of stirring so I expect to take stick, I am not here to be liked.

Everything in life has rules to each engagement, competition etc and you need to understand them and choose to enter based on the return you believe may be possible.

If you do engage you have to play by the rules in place you don't have to like them.

yet imo i still think its a scam off a contest,so very hollow and pointless.
oh im not a hater,i just dont get it. it would be good for the person that won it to actually be the best sup grom,not just the best promoted child

2012 1st Place South Australian Open Womens State Title (cant be awared state champion as she doesnt live in that state)
2012 Victoria Flatwater Junior Sprint Race Champion
2012 1st Stand Up Paddler (male or female) to be accepted into the Sports Education Development Australia 3 Year Diploma Program
As well as surfing and racing Kristi is now starting to design and shape her own SUP boards.

"The SUP Grom of the Year Open Nominations officially ended at midnight on August 31st, 2012.

Congratulations to the top 5 finalists who automatically advance to the final round. They are: 1. Christopher Bluthardt, 2. Dylan Frick, 3. Bobby Flynn, 4. Vanina Walsh and 5. Bailey Rosen. Honorary advancements also include Annette Garcia, Kristi Page, Grace Farley and Mo Freitas. Pre-seeded groms have also been added to the final."

Well done IMHO, at the end of the day Kristi's results speak for themselves and shes doing very well up against the might of the USA and fellow groms of the calibre of Vanina Walsh etc, we should leave the debate about whether facebook is worth the cookies wasted on it for another day and just support a young Aussie given the criteria we have to work with.
