I knew Jason Polakow (the name behind JP boards) when he was very young and his mum and dad would bring him to all the windsurfing comps.. We knew back then that Jason was going to be a champion.. Jason and his parents would come up to Merimbula each year for the Mambo and we became good friends.. JP bought a Nissan Pathfinder because he liked mine.. and my current slalom board is one of Jasons old customs.. It's still an awesome board and only about 5kg in total weight.
Anyway.. I've not seen Jason for years because he lives on Maui now and travels the world windsurfing.. Today I rode my Fat Bike down to Sandy to catch up with him..
We paddled together and checked out the local action.
Here's some pics from today.
My fat bastard bike and a new JP board.
Action on the water.. Girls demo'ing a JP board.
Nice bit of girl on girl action.
I could have watched them all day.
And so could Jason.
The girls were having a ball.
We were lucky to get some perfect summer weather.. Jason said the water was the same temp as Hawaii.
Spot the Victorian.. I'm guessing one of those girls is from Melbourne and one is not..
Me and JP.
Nice.. Umm.. Nice technique..
Hey Rob (Piros).. Hands of my sister.
Piros was in his element and I'm sure he got some good vid and professional pics.
What a great day.
