When I first met DJ I'd just been for an exhausting 2 hour paddle to Elwood and back on the Glide and really wasnt up for a surf session. But his enthusiasm for SUP is so infectious that before long I was out catching waves with him under the pier.
I'm happy to report that DJ is just as nice and friendly in real life as he appears in these forums. And speaking as someone who is a first time SUP'r on Port Philip bay I found him to be a great font of knowledge about the area. He showed me a cool little wave spot near the St Kilda pier and it was so good I even went back down last night and caught some waves!
Between DJ and other friendly SUP'rs cruising around the beach and the SUP bus doing their thing there is a really good vibe at St Kilda, I'm glad I went down to check it out and suspect you may see me there a bit in the coming weeks!
DJ, Usually I am all keen for little expeditions like this Yarra tour but unfortunately I have to go to rugby training tonight
However apart from this scheduling clash I am still up for anything SUP so count me in for any further adventures
