This is a break near Eagle's Nest on the East Coast yesterday and check out the photo sequence of me getting caught inside and pointing the wrong way.

My friend Mike almost turns my 10' Mana into a 8' Mana while Oliver and Cam watch.. You've gotta laugh.. Both boards survived.

I knew Mike was there and thought he was going left.. Once I saw him I had nowhere to go.. I did not paddle for the wave knowing I was in the way.

It makes me wonder what's the best thing to do in a situation like this?

DJ, are you sure you were not paddling for that wave Maybe take the sit down position and hold the rails and lean back towards the wave

Great photos once again, how did Oliver get on

1 - Never assume the guy inside is going to go left (or right for that matter).

2 - Never hit someone

3 - Give him your next wave and a beer when you get in.

When it is that busy with surfers of all different levels - look left, look right and left again.

On late take offs going straight is always going to end in tears.

The quickest way to stop is to just sit on your board as close to the tail as you can, grab the rails and lean back as Mac said.

I was there and saw the whole thing. DJ dropped in. But he is the president and has that right. The other guy was in the wrong.

Don't get in the way of our president.

Great sequence by the way.

An hour further on and you could have had kilometres of good surf all to yourself. I did. :-)))

I wish I was more like you and all your mates. Without being specific and breaking unwritten surfing codes of practice in naming places where did you end up on Sat?

Never ever ever drop in, unless......

You know your faster and more capable of out surfing the bloke on the inside! Jokes

In seriousness though, I don't mind if you drop in on my most of the time, as long as your NOT GOING STRAIGHT!!!! if you can get on the shoulder and out of my way, it's all good. Sup's great for sharing, but hitting each other hurts, a lot!
