Due to Indy being on the same day as the GC Relay, it has been decided to start[or finish depending on the prevailing wind] at Runaway Bay.This will add an extra 1.5km approx to the course. The address is Constance Esp.RunawayBay.Map 19 Refrence D5. in the UBD[REFIDEX].
The finish[ or start depending on prevailing wind]is Map82L,I. Jack Evans Boat Harbour. This will get us away from Southport and Sundale bridge as it will be congested, so stick to the freeway and all should be good.
Regristation will be at 8am.Briefing at 9.30am.SUP and Paddle Boards will go off together around 15 to 20mins. before the Outriggers.Look forward to seeing there, have fun.
Johnny.

Yes Piros...I just got this message from my boat driver also...

If we start at Tweed that means we will be pushing a full flood tide through the largest reach of the Broadwater coming in through the Southport Seaway...it will be murder

Does that mean we have a support boat .

Just working with Mark from the Outrigging side of the event - as Woogie is home.

Looking at starting the ladies SUP and Ladies Paddle Boarders 30 mins before the main field
Mens SUP & Paddles Boards 20 mins before Main field, Ladies OC1 OC2 10 mins before main field Mens OC1 OC2 main field Ski's 10 mins after main field.

This way we will not have to deal with boat wash right at the start of the race - cause we will need all our strength if we are going to be push against a tide.

Sorry I was wrong it actually works out O.K because the tides are small , it's low tide at 11.28am and if we start at 9.30am (Qld time) a 35km race should take competitors apx 2 to 3-1/2 hours which brings you in just before the change or just after , so even if you do it in 2-1/2 hours you will be coming in on an incoming tide ....PLUS we will be leaving the Tweed Bar on an outgoing tide.So all is good

The 9.30 start is the key and it works in both directions from Tweed or Southport.

Well done Johhny
