The last few months here in Melbourne have been the worst that I've ever seen for water quallity.. With all the rain that we've had the water has had a constant coffee colour and the amount of crap floating around in cluding dead fish is disgusting.. Anyway.. The last few days has been back to clean and clear at last.. I took some vid today.. and besides being clean and clear it was also glassy..

Hey DJ,

The Barwon River also has a blue green algea bloom warning that is current and it also effects the local beaches like OG and 13th I would suspect.

Last time the brown sludge appeared at Black Rock I wrote to all those in Authority that should be doing some thing about the causes, have had various responses, one from the local State Member, Mr Murray Thompson. I have a meeting organized for mid February to discuss the issues, if anyone who also has had enough and would like to attend such a meeting you are welcome, just email me and when a final time is organized I will let you know, it would be great if there are a number of people concerned enough to have a say, there should be a "Clean Bay" campaign initiated similar to the Clean Ocean, its just not good enough for this to continually happen to Port Phillip Bay

Great idea Mike.. We need to bring up the agreement with the government that the factory on the Yarra has to dump oil waste into the mouth of the Yarra just because they have done it for years they should not be able to get away with it this day and age.. Serious payback going on there for sure.. and the whole storm water thing sucks big time.
