What is the wind likey to be like up there at this time Hilly? I imagine if it was a standard SW'er the DW would entail a lot of right side paddling.

If anyone is looking for accommodation up there for this weekend (or any other weekend getaway) I have a house up at Ledge Point (less than 15min from Lancelin) for short term rent. 2 x 1 (and a big room below that could sleep another couple or a tribe of kids) with loads of space for cars and boards. Please pm me for details if you are interested. Cheers

All upwind or side wind would be ordinary on a sup

I have a place at Ledge and I have kite surfed from Ledge to Lancelin quite a few times . Also supped at Ledge and Lancelin.
THe 18 km course ; Initial 1 km paddle south into a southerly or southwester against the chop would be pretty hard . Going south to Lancelin ..might be okay for part but probably side on wind and waves..45 deg making it not so easy. The more west the breeze the harder it would be. THe wind can reallly blow too, often earlier and stronger than forecast. THe section 1km out off Lancelin bay west of the reef could be pretty interesting if there is a good swell. Could see a few noahs out there too. Paddling around Lancelin Island then back up into a southerly or souwester to the finish line would be very hard at the end of the race. Ill watch this year and see if any one does it .

THe 8km course , half back into the wind..doesnt interest me.
