Well done Lads.

don't know these people but a tall blond won the women followed by alison f, andy davis got 10th and the starboard that got second was the same type that got 3rd and a whole lot of other places. If the race started at 1 then jake did it in about 2 hr 10 and dave and sam where within 5 minutes of him.Good to see most of the sup guys still at the end when jez was the last person home on the 12'6.

Don't think the 2013 Aces have landed yet. Tall blonde woman must be Terrene.

After the battering Ali got in the shorey ending up 200m south of the start, it's amazing she even finished the race - absolute respect for her persistence and determination.

Don't know the exact times but I do know Dave finished 2 mins behind Jake and 30secs in front of me.
Huge respect to Jake as we were all pretty close at long reef then Jake just put the peddal down and pulled out the 2 mins in the last 4-6 km. Top paddle but the young fella which left me thinking about him lining up against Connor in the Doctor this year. Will be a great battle.
Sam.

You paddled well too Sam.
How did you find conditions? Not much wind I heard, so tough conditions?

32 starters / 32 finishers - fantastic result.
The GPS's showed it was about 25km - and it was bit of slog.
There were some great stories from the mid/back packers.
Lots of cameraderie and encouragement to ensure everyone got across the line.
My hero for the day was big Mal Sawers sacrificing a couple of minutes by helping some girl to get back on her on ski. Someone else told me about it...not Mal.
Jake was exceptional. About 5 of us hit Long Reef together and, with 7km to go, Jake put the pedal down and just took off - we all had no answers. Great effort mate.
Nellie - congrats. A very lucrative day for you. Ali - cannot believe what happened to you - and to finish only 2 mins from the lead - legend!
And - very quietly - Vanessa Smith snuck into 3rd place only 2 mins behind - massive improvement through the season.
Thanks heaps to all the Queenslanders who came down to support the race. We don't race often so it is staggering to see how close it was in the end. Stevie Morrison finishing 6th which almost makes it a tie in the NSW/QLD thing - but Jakie winning probably gives it to QLD on a countback.
I'll try to put together the unofficial results and times tommorow. Otherwise go to the Oceanseries site - they usually get them up pretty quick.

Huge thanks to Dave for all you efforts in making the Series a great Success again, and for sponsoring the series prizes. I don't think there would even be a series for sups without your efforts and im sure all 32 paddlers today would have been happy for the opportunity to race even if it was a bit of a slog. Congrats also on an awesome result today and the series win even though you were out for the first couple of races.

Big thanks also to Sam Parker (Wind Surf 'n' Snow) for your sponsorship throughout the series and Starboard for their support throughout the series and all the prizes for today's race!

Congrats Jakey and Neelie on the win!

I definitely got a different perspective in today's race, with everyone just dots on the horizon when I got out to the start (I didn't think it was possible to get worked that much in the shorey!) it was good fun trying to guess who everyone was as I finally approached the back of the sup pack at the 12km mark!

Great to see so much improvement from the other girls, especially Vanessa, over the series and for all 3 today was the first time they had raced that far! Looking forward to more great competition with you girls in the future!

Everyone who competed today should be so proud of themselves.

The conditions leaving Palmy were less than ideal and getting out from the beach was hard to watch let alone be involved in.

To use that much energy then regain composure for 25km of ocean was inspirational for me - so thank you.

I couldn't get down for the finish but after watching you all set off, I ventured to Longy and grabbed some shot's however you were all a LONG way out which made it tough for me with the overcast conditions.

Here's a video I put together - too many photo's to post individually.

My partner took a heap with her 'you beaut' SLR and I'll post them when she's got them ready.

Again, well done all - massive effort guys / girls, awesome sport and proud to be involved.

Great video Chris. I snuck out straight through a break in the waves at Palmie and had no idea of the carnage happening behind. Good on Ali Cat who copped it and then powered home.

A big thank you to Dave Kissane for organisation of the series and Rod from Starboard for all of his work on the beach.

Thank you Starboard and WINDSURFNSNOW for all of your prizes and support. Also a big thank you to Sam Parker who has given a lot of us mid fielders advice, support and lent boards throughout the series. Your help and support is appreciated.

What a race. I snuck out straight through the waves and was unaware of the carnage in the shorebreak behind. Ali Cat did very well to charge through the field after her severe punishment in the shorie.

As Kissa said, lots of personal battles going on midfield. I fell at the start before my paddle even hit the water so I should have taken that as a sign of things to come. I spent the first half of the race battling Evan Green, Neelie Brown and Luke Ratcliff until I finally managed to pull away and chase Casso. I pulled about 300 metres in on Casso and then I must have hit his force field. As soon as I got within 50 metres of him I would fall. I'd catch up to within 50 metres again and I'd fall again. Casso did fall once, and when he saw me I did notice his paddle rate go up a bit. We both struggled through the Curl Curl chop and I was extremely glad when I staggered up Freshwater Beach.

Happy to finish and with the overall series result.

Watched you guys coming past Newport and I must say the yellow "needle" on the inside was looking the goods at that stage, sliding through with what seemed like a bit less effort. Well done all.

Well done all to finish, looked like a bit of a slog. Having said that I was supping out home and was going to paddle out to you for a bit of a gee-up.
Apart from been way out you all went past so quick I could tell I was too slow to cross your paths. So thought better of it. Fun waves!
Great work.

Well done to Jake!! He smashed it!! Dave and sam also showed they have what it takes to mix it with the best. The race was well put on we all really enjoyed the day even if someone did pay laurie to fudge the forecast!!LOL
Just for anyone wanting to do anyevents in sydney it was a very easy day trip for us Goldy guys so for the next big race down there it would be great to get more people down to it.

Jacko, was there a reason why you rode HRS Fanatic and not carbon ?

Wondering if you thought a little weight advantageous over lightness or similar.

Hi Chris,

Jacko's stick was fresh little proto not a stock production board. Plenty of carbon there just hidden under a different paint job.

Sam.

The Bridge to Beach is the 24th Feb 2013. That would be a good race for the Qld guys to attend. You don't get many opportunities to paddle under the Coat Hanger.
Great to catch up with you guys again....even if it was only at the start and the finish.
