Ok - I am never one to seek advice about boards on here, but here goes.

I am looking for input from anyone who has ridden the following boards:

Jimmy Lewis Kwad 8.7
Jimmy Lewis Kwad 9.1
Jimmy Lewis Stun Gun 8.7
Jimmy Lewis Stun Gun 9.2

Fanatic 8.10 Pro Wave
Fanatic 9.1 (I think) Pro Wave

I am going to purchase either a JL or Fanatic in the next few weeks and the above boards are what I am choosing between (no others thank you)

Must clarify that I historically hate sup quads BUT I love the shape and pedigree of the Kwad sups.

I am 75kg - experienced sup surfer - would prefer slightly more than slightly less board - usually surf an nsp 10.0 and an 8.5 Starby pro but want a tad less volume and better performance in good waves and still have the ease of getting into the mostly very fat and full waves we get down here.

Oh - yes I know I am the right weight for the 8.2s and 8.7s but due to being old and broken I will be sticking with the 8.7/8.10/9.2s.

Thanks in advance.

Are you serious !!!

The only thing stopping me buying another gsi is the fact that there is nothing smaller than my 10 coco. I literally live on the coco but on some days its just that bit too much board. An nsp 9.2 is it ??

BTW - the nsp 10 is staying - could never part with it now.

Yes mate, 9'2 Coco Mat NSP. Will be somewhere around 7kg and at twice the strength of a regular NSP which are already one of the most durable boards on the market not a bad strength to weight ratio.

Also coming is a 9'8 that is a more all rounder. Super light weight with strength, it's usually one or the other right?

I bought the Jimmy Lewis 8'7" kwad, after trying my brother laws board. It's an awesome board. I find it stable for it's dimensions. I'm about 78 kg and and about 5'9" and a half.
It turns on a dime. It's understandably not gonna paddle into a wave like a bigger board, but to be honest that hasn't bothered me once. I wouldn't class myself as an experienced SUP rider, but my brother-in-law who rips on a SUP (and has ridden short boards for 40 odd years) loves his 8'7" JL. I'd highly recommend it as a board. The finish on it is top draw and tough.

I had the 9 1 Kwad for a year great board in small waves. If you want to ride solid waves the new psh 8 9 is worth a demo. Narrow bladed out tail is awesome in when traveling fast.

hey mate
I'm about the same build ,give or take a kg, I've got a jl 9'9 mano and 8'7 quad both are awesome boards ,the 9'9 great for big waves and the quad covers everything else from ankle biters up to about 4 to 5 foot, so the new stun gun ,is a mix of the two boards ,so I,d go with the stun gun , It's the perfect board for tassie,I'd love to be there today so many uncrowded spots pumping today
