I wouldn't put money on that if I was you biggirl, he hasn't been on a board since the winter Classic and he won't be allowed to use the "Golding 15' Bliss Bus" so it should be wide open

Thanks for the support Coreban.

Should be a clear sweep by the Park Beach Boardriders as we can claim fame to the current open, over 40, over 50 & don't forget the over 65 state BOP champions

Wondering is this comp open to all boards , or will it be along the same lines as the winter classic where Racing and downwind boards can't enter .

Good question TassieD, the main BOP will be open any 12'6" board and under, there will be other "fun" races that will be open what ever board you have, but the details are still to be finalised.

I think Tassiedevels young bloke can take claim to the under 21 BOP Champion and he is from the North West, not sure if hes a memeber of the Boardriders Club up there though

I think you would have to join STas. to enter the main event, membership is $44.00.
Dont know if they have a social/one event membership.
Is this correct?

You have to be a member of Surfing Tasmania to enter the 4km Coreban Battle of the Paddle with the 14' Edge as the main prize.

At this stage anyone can enter the other races a 1.5km and a distance race from either Blackmans Bay Beach or Hinsby Beach. To be confirmed this Friday.

Not a member as yet . Signing up with the northwest board riders seems to be harder then signing up with the secret service
Unfortunatly Don't think we will be attending this one . The minister of social outings has already organized a weekend on the west coast I can't get out of - bugger

Send me up some posters if you can I will try and spread the word around the northwest

Coreban Battle of the Paddle. Kingston Beach Regatta Sunday 26th January.

The SUP community in Tasmania is stoked at Coreban Australia's generous sponsorship of the SUP racing at the Kingston Beach Regatta this year.

The prize on offer is the 14'0" Edge for the 4km BOP race. This has bought out everyone's competitive spirit with Muhammad Ali like banter already started between competitors. Word on the street is that the local favorite to win is in training after being out of the water for 6 months. One keen competitor is flying home from Queensland to race.

Kingston Beach is situated 15min south of Hobart in the Derwent River estuary with cafes, hotel and sailing club. Browns River is used for SUP and Kayak time trial racing.

anyone looking for a good race board with a few miles on the clock my 12'6" fanatic is on the market, you could put down a deposit now and collect it after the race as the price will skyrocket when its the first one over the finish line.

Here's a list of Coreban boards that will be available on the day:

Sonic 12'6 Carbon Kevlar construction
Vision 12'6 Pure construction
Echo 10'6 Allround board in Core construction
Hyper 7' Surf SUP in blue/green Hype construction
Bomb 9' Surf SUP in green Core construction (surf and a bit of touring)
Performer 9'6 Surf SUP in green Core construction

Would anyone who doesn't have a 12'6 like to paddle the Sonic or Vision on the day? It would be good if the boards could be in each race.

Jules / Jappy

Don't know much about the coreban boards

What do you have in the 9 foot range in wave boards / and how do your boards compare to the other brands eg . Jimmy Lewis / Naish .

There are 5 boards around the 9' size range from the Lithium at 8'11 to the Performer at 9'6. How many litres do you like in your boards? What style of surfing do you like?

I notice in previous posts there has been interest shown in the Coreban boards but the previous distributor wasn't helpful. Coreban have a new owner and Jappy is their distributor for Tassie now.

Coreban have also recently reduced their pricing and it is now about the mark of other Brands like Naish. On some boards Coreban prices are better than their competitors. Comparing like with like.

I have a Core 9' Bomb and 9'6 Performer if you want to try them. From memory Coreban are currently out of stock of the shorter boards except for the 7' Hype.

THE NEW COREBAN SONICS

Perhaps the FASTEST BOARD IN THE WORLD the new Coreban SONIC 12'6 has been smashing race records and turning heads in the USA and Europe. Now available! Previously only used by Team Coreban in race circuits worldwide the Coreban Sonic is now available to the public. This is a highly-refined rocket ship of a race board designed for serious recreational class and established elite racers looking for a boost in speed. It is available in both Pure and Carbon Kevlar construction and in two widths. 27" and 29". When paddling scoot up on the board to sink the nose slightly in flat water and the board will accelerate immediately. You will get the sensation of riding on the back of a dolphin. Scoot back in choppier conditions and the nose will ride up and you will jump through sloppier conditions without losing the ability to accelerate. The bottom of the board is designed to provide paddlers with a shape that will increase acceleration and lift onto a plane much faster. The paddler will not get a sense of a limiting "hull speed" with this board; there is no limit (within reason). A proven race winner and a super light rocket ship. (Approximate weight is 10kg for the Carbon Kevlar models)

12'6 x 29 x 6'' at the nose and 3 1/2 '' at the tail. 217 litres
12'6 x 27 x 6'' at the nose and 3 1/2 '' at the tail. 205 litres

12'6 x 27' - Sonic Pure Range AC - RRP $2,715.00
12'6 x 29' - Sonic Pure Range AC - RRP $2,720.00
12'6 x 27" Sonic - Red Black (Carbon/Kevlar) - RRP $3,480.00
12'6 x 29" Sonic - Red Black (Carbon/Kevlar) - RRP $3,495.00

I just answered Tassiedevel's question about the range of boards Coreban has about 9' in length on the 9th Jan at 6:21pm.

The boards should be arriving in Hobart on Monday. Contact me to have a pre-race day try. I'll still looking for people to paddle the Coreban boards on the day. I've had one offer but need some more volunteers. It's a good opportunity for people who don't have a 12'6.

I like your tactic of discouraging others from joining in. That means you have more chance to win.

Looks like Jules has 2 spare brand new 12'6" race boards available for use in the race, put up your hand now, Jappy reckon these boards are so fast that your nanna could win the race if she was on one these
These people put there money and time to get demo boards down here and we don't get a lot so lets make the most of it when someone does, get on these boards to see if they are as good as what they say, you will never never know unless you have a go
