I purchased a Coreban Icon on Saturday 22 Jan for a trip to PNG departing 06 Feb. I've only ridden it twice and am stoked with the board (so much faster than my whopper) I noticed a couple of marks on the board the following Saturday and being a new board i was a little concerned (freaked out).

I immediately emailed the shop (Goodtime at the Gabba) and Coreban on the contact email on their website. This was Saturday, i received a reply from both the shop and the Coreban distributor on the Sunshine Coast the next day .........Sunday.

Spoke with Woogie on the Phone explained about my imminent trip and my concerns with the board. He organised to look at the board on Monday, by 10 o'clock got a call to say the board will be fine for the trip (largely a cosmetic issue) and they will replace it with a new board when i get back........ Dishes are done less than two days.

I have no affiliations with any companies or brands (my other two boards are starboards). I'm just an average working bloke who has to save up to get every board. So all i can say is from my experience if your looking for a good board as well as peace of mind give Coreban a go.

Cheers
Andrew

P.S. i don't really understand the funny little faces so i didn't bother.

Beautiful story man.

PS: I think those things are called avatar smilies or something silly. I wouldn't worry about them too much, but if you want to say you are happy click on the one with the sunglasses. Some people put lots of them in their posts. I think this tells readers they are really happy.

and i am so jealous on the Icon....i am moving from a whopper to an Icon this week if i get enough treasure together !

tell me more how much is it faster and what else?

i love the whoppers but to drop almost 5 inches ( yeh funny lads ) is going to be fun..is it?

Jas

i"ve only ridden it twice so my initial comparison to the whopper is it's noticably faster and much more lively on the wave, the stability is good but not as good as the whopper. I fall a bit more often almost always when standing idle not paddling. It surfs great for me at 105Kg and leaves me a with some room for improvement. i like the nose rocker it doesn't nose dive easily. What i like best is the fin humms like a light sabre when your fanging down the line.

Hope this helps

I love my Icon, esp the hum of the fin when you lock in a good bottom turn
I'm 100kg and get wet occassionaly when there is a bit of chop around so Jas your lightweight 90kg should be just fine.
If you can try and get a set of Gerry Lopez quad fins. The speed you will get out is amazing and it is rock solid in turns with them from 1ft - 6ft.

Am planning on taking it over to Bali in 2 1/2 weeks time to see how it goes around the reefs at Sanur - cant wait !!

Now that Jodie and Woogie are onboard with Guy, things are only going to get better.

Good times ahead for Coreban, I reckon.

Just thought this one deserved another plug.Coreban really seems to be heading in the right direction.Love to hear good news stories.Would it be too indulgent of me to suggest other brands take a cue
