My Coreban Lithium deck grip does not have a lot of grip when the board gets on steepish angles, usually during paddling out in choppy, windy days. Has any one ever cut more grooves into the pad to add grip ? And what did you cut them with ? The grip is fine otherwise, so I do not want to remove the whole thing. Any feed back would be appreciated. Cheers.

Try rubbing wet sand into the grip before you paddle out, deck grips do seem to go a bit slippery if they are put away wet into a board bag too.

Try to brush them with some kind of household detergent. Often pads get slippery with a thin layer of dust / oil / chemicals / algae / ... from the factory or from sessions. I always do it for new boards.

I had the same problem. It was annoying when you pretty much recover after almost tipping and then slip off anyway!
I got a really rough sand paper and just roughed it up. Worked well.

I've got Excel booties with a gum sole and they were soooooooooo slippery on the Coreban grip even after I roughed it up.
I ended up waxing the grip which worked amazing.

I've got a new JP 8'2" and my booties slip on this as well but now that I'm not using booties it is as grippy as it gets with
bare feet. So I guess I just need new booties for next winter.
