really want to get the Alwave wet and give cotton tree a go, just wondering what's the best tides etc to go. May stick the sail on the sup and give that a go to.
All tides are doable in my opinion though you may have to with a strong enough ideal pull. I reckon go for high tide for the comfort factor its so prettier at high tide.
High tide at the bags is allways worth a look for a surf or a flat water paddle , but we need some swell first. I picked up a allwave last week and have had it out 5 times already loving it ,Alex heads today .
The big car park beach side lee at the end of the van park , you can check the surf or walk around the bags to the river mouth and its got a proper shower not one of those press ones for board wash down
Most sup between the river mouth and Maroocydore clubhouse, very friendly crew and happy to share with the regular longboarders, kayaks and surf skis. The sandbags next to the caravan park are always good, be wary of strong runout tides with a big surf breaking onto the the sandbar - it can be very dangerous. Hope you have fun.
Thanks for this guys, Im hoping to get out in the morning at sometime even if its just for a flat water paddle before the wind gets up. Just a bit concerned about the outgoing tide
Not related to this thread but I want to upgrade my ali paddle to a carbon, been looking at the fanatic adjustable carbon and the quick blade kanaha, any suggestions?
It is not good form to paddle out into the lineup if you can't surf - best to find a quiet spot where no damage or agro will result. The north shore in the river is usually good for beginners.
there was only myself and one other I basically positioned myself in the middle, in line with the campsite and the exposed sandbank. Nice little waves for me
