My guess, for a bigger scale... if / when you fall off, I guess you swim to the outside of the ring, to the deep water channel....
Not sure how they plan to generate the waves at full scale though... I think the concept needs bigger scale exploration, with assistance from high end hydraulic, mechanical, and mathematical engineers.
I think the slot things on the outside ring, are minimising back-wash / or rebound... ??? But I think that is also the wave generation mechanism.... you could maybe have rope ladders in the channel.... The biggest challenge is the full scale working version, and prior prototypes, not getting in & out !
if the they can build an indoor ski feild in the middle of the desert I'm sure this will be no problem , what happens when fall off how do you get out.
