With the new generation of SUP boards with wide-ish tails like the Starboard Sprint and Fanatic Falcon Flatwater, does anyone know who manufactures bags/covers for them? I have a 14 x 26.5 Falcon Flatwater and no bag/cover available from Fanatic/Ion. Flying Objects are saying they're not changing their bag/covers to suit the new generation boards, and FCS have not commented. Those that have a board that fits in a bag suggest it isn't ideal as it's a squeeze to get the tail in.

Are there any other options to consider besides an expensive, custom option?

Thanks

Magilla

In the UK at least, our local custom board bag maker produces bags that are no more expensive - sometimes even cheaper - than covers from the leading brands. Custom doesn't necesarily mean poor value.

Is the 14' flying objects bag too narrow?

Balin used to do customs at reasonable prices, dunno if they still will.

The 14' Flying Objects bag is too narrow in the tail.

I'll try Balin in the morning.

My sprint 24 wide by 14 fits in the FO bag fine so I am surprised the Fanatic don't fit? Have you tried?

Big old booty on the fanatic flatwater. It would be a very close thing to squeeze one into a FO bag.
I think options may be the balin or the FCS.
ION did a big bag that the 2013 14x30" fanatic fits into. I'd try one of those first.

Just checked the ion website and they do a 14x30" race bag. Looks like the tail may be wide enough.

I have a new 14 Sprint x26 and the YOB cover is as though it's custom made for it.
Perfect fit.

Whasup Custom Board Bags
www.whasup.co.uk/

I have bought 4 bags from them, all excellent and to my specs. The latest one was for a SIC X14. I have no connection to the company. Ask for Rik.

They are a dutch company, good to see that they made it to the other side of the world.Cycling is almost like a 2th nature here in Holland and for just going into town and to the train station they are great. Light, well thought with the lights in the frame and foolproof. Even for me one of the better I bikes I ever had and I owned dozens.

I have absolutely no problem fitting the 14 x24 Fanatic Falcon Flatwater in the Flying Objects bag. There's plenty of room in the tail.
The 14 x 27,25 Falcon Ocean is a little difficult up at the nose though. It's tight but will zip up. I may have the wider FO bag.

I just realised it was all of my other boards that had gone in my bag and not the Flatwater falcon. I've just tested it. I've got the Flyiong Objects 14x30 bag and the new 14x24 Flatwater Falcon does fit but the fin needed to be removed.

My board is a 14 x 26. Happy to remove the fin. Have asked FCS to confirm if the board will fit after I gave them board dimensions.

Magilla, I managed to get a hold of one of the new Fanatic Flatwater 14 x 26 boards yesterday and found that it fits in the Flying Objects Travel Cover SUP Race with no issues at all. There was no need to muck around with getting it in around the substantial tail and the nose fitted well also. Did not check with the fin in though.

Hope this helps.

Paddle happy
