ALSO ..... leaky paddle
i got water in the actual BLADE of my shaka.... i can here it swishing aroung but it wont drain out

.... musr be getting in through the rubber seal.
Windy, just after I got my Shaka Pu'u I was paddling hard after a wave and it felt like the paddle had cracked. It actually made a popping noise and I felt the reverberations in the paddle. This has never happened again, but my paddle has leaked since. This hasnt been much of an issue until lately--now the water has actually added noticeable weight to my paddle.
I'm pretty sure there is a slight crack in it that only opens up just slightly when paddling. I have taped the joint between the blade and the handle, so pretty sure it isnt leaking through there.
I asked Lummers about this at a function earlier in the year and he suggested exactly what Phil has recommended. I just havent had the cajones to drill into a $500 paddle yet..................
I have kept pretty quiet on this front, but does anyone else think this is more of a warranty issue than a "fix it yourself" issue? Mine popped and was reported to the retailer within a few weeks of purchase.
I'm still pretty miffed about replacing multiple deck pads on my WindSup(ready for another one now) and spending my time fixing other peoples problems on my dime/time for a product I paid top dollar for. I had certainly rather have someone else (responsible for damages!) drilling holes into my paddle.
Just a thought........Ronnie
