DJ,
Cut clean, you must be getting cheap boards from Naish. Naish arnt bad but you posts are so bias? I noticed JB is not saying much about the 2009 boards? Must be in trouble? They don't like info being released early because it affects retailers with 08 stock....... People wait till the new gear.

Just trying to spice up the friday night posts.....
Its been a bit boring......

Going to be windy here this weekend so I am stoked to go sailing but my last 3 outings have been surfing my fish, have not been on my SUP since my last stitches.
Can't wait. Maybe next week.

Hey Scotty..I just got home from a hard nights works and wow..

I have to admit I'm a huge Naish fan..But only after sussing out all the other boards out there first..You can't help being a bit bias to a brand that you own and love....btw..JL, C4, Laird and PSH were not brands that we have here in Melbourne..If I'd bought one of them things might be different.

I also have to admit that after I bought my Naish 10'6" and going in our first SUP race here in Melbourne that was run by SHQ..Mike (the owner of SHQ) asked me if I could give a small talk about SUP after the race..btw..he also asked Wes to talk about SUP'ing in the surf because that's not my cup'a'tea right now.

Anyway..after the race they (SHQ) asked if I could come down and help them out with a TV filming of Totally Wild (it screened last wed..anyone see it?)..and I was more than happy to help out..after all, my shift work gave me the time and I would have been out at St Kilda beach anyway.

It was after this that Mike from SHQ said to me that they really appreciate my help..and also noticed the effort that I put into this forum..btw..I used to put in a similar effort on the BMW R1150R (motorcycle) forum over the past 5yrs and it was all getting a bit boring so I have sort of just switched from one forum to another..I like doing it..and I have the time to do it with the hours that I work.

Anyway..Mike knew me from when I was sponsored by North sails and a sister shop to SHQ called Latitude 38 (anyone remember them) and he said to me that if there is anything that he can do for me he would be glad to help me out..because it's good for them to have someone like me pushing SUP..btw..I do it because I love it..

So...I wanted a big Naish 11'6"..for my daughter to use and to let friends use who are thinking about getting into it..and with the help of Naish I got a discount..I also got a discount on my paddles and legies..It's not much but it all helps..I really appreciate their help.

I've just sold my Naish 10'6" to my friend who has been paddling with me a lot lately..I've been using the big 11'6" and she's been using my 10'6"..It floats her in the same way my 11'6" floats me..I told her that I might sell my 10'6" one day and buy a new 11'4" and she hassled me to buy it..So I have just sold it to her..and now I'm looking forward to buying a new 11'4"..

I'm still paying for my stuff..and I do not work for Naish or SHQ..and I have nothing against other brands..and I'm sorry if it appears that I do..I hope this clears things up for you Scotty..or anyone else that wondered the same thing.....Just thinking..Maybe I should go to the Croc shop and see if they will sponsor me..

How've you been Scotty..How's the shoulder?

DJ

Scotty,

My absence from the forum is largely due to being very busy and also having the flue at the same time, and I am struggling with the multi tasking. This time of year sucks for me. It is this time of the year when I have to make the price lists for for all the brands that Windgenuity do (Fanatic, Mistral, North Sails, F2, Prolimit, Naish Windsurfing, Naish Surfing, Naishkiteboarding, North Kiteboarding, DVD's, Hifly, ION.... the list just goes on and on), so I my spare time is limited. To add to it, My wife is now sick with the stupid flue also, so with me being busy, my 2 kids (22months and 9 months), and me being away every second week on sales trips, life hard. As for info on the 2009 range, there is no cover up here, just time. Another thing that everyone needs to know, is that Naish spend a lot of time developing their SUP range. By making sure they get it right the first time, the boards to not need to get upgraded, and are all still in the range in their respected position. The Naish 09 range makes more sense than any I have seen. If my kids will stay occupied for 30 minutes, I will post the 09 range this morning.

Regards,

JB

I know this topic was posted as a stir but I've gotta give a big shout out to DJ for helping me when choosing my board, yes his preference is Naish but if he's had good experiences with them why wouldnt he recomend them? he knew that I was leaning towards the southpoints and helped me in choosing the right one, you'll also see he makes positive and useful comments about the PSH's, JL's, starboards and even Olivers Uli.

Gotta say though he wont get me in a pair of crocs on a SUP......unless its posing for a p#$stake photo! I reckon we could get a line of vic SUPers all wearing crocs just for Ben Dovers sake.
