Have just bought a property adjoining Deep Creek in NSW near Valla Beach.
The plan is to paddle down river, about a K, surf at Valla, buy breakfast at valla beach resort and paddle home.
This will happen if we can ever sell our house in Gero
Is there anyone from sea breeze that lives around that area?
I wonder if there are many SUPpers in the area and what Valla is like as a SUP wave?

Is it true there are lots of sharks there?

Yeah Brooko, but you probably want about 5 million for your place.

The place we are trying to sell is only $225.000 for two storey A frame, brick and jarrah, 200 metres from the beach.

Suit windsurfer/kiter. (Is this the real estate forum?)

Don't know about Valla but it is near Nambucca Heads - great SUP'ing in the river (flat water) and river mouth (surf).

We will be looking to start(if it doesn't already exist) some sort of social SUP association at Deep Creek. Valla Beach

We have a double garage there by the river with heaps of room to store boards.

There is a park right on the river.

The plan is for a social group to meet regularly maybe Saturday/Sundays and paddle upstream for a tour or down stream to the surf then back for a BBQ depending on conditions.

I'm not sure how far inland you can go on Deep Creek or even what is up there. ? sewerage works ? who knows, It will be interesting to find out

We may approach Big Daddy in the hope He will consider being our Patron.

We could have a photo of him on the wall including shots of St Kilda scenes. (If the wife will allow it)

Ha.. .. Just looking that the google map.. www.google.com.au:443/maps?hl=en&q=valla+beach&um=1&ie=UTF-8&split=0&gl=au&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&resnum=1&ct=title ..

I've never heard of Valla beach before but it looks about an hour south of Byron Bay.. Looks like a great place.

As for a St Kilda pic.. I have this one on my wall now.. www.markgray.com.au/gift-range/beach-ocean-seascapes/st-kilda-pier-kiosk-AL00051.php

Hey elbeau, we are closish neighbours now. I used to be the telegram delivery boy and night manual telephone operator at Nambucca Heads when I was 17.

The local surf breaks are not for discussion on an open forum, PM me and I'll fill you in. Sounds like you have bought one of the new estate blocks that they have just started selling in the old Hyland Park reserve.

Scots Head is about 40 mins south.

I'd say about 4 or 5 hours south of Byron. You won't be short of quality surf breaks around that area though.

Love that pier. Remember standing there watching the kiteboarders sail up to it then do a massive jump back down the bay before working their way upwind again. So skillful.
We probably will call the association, UDCWAP, or Up Deep Creek With A Paddle.
Members of sea breeze will be welcome.

I surfed Valla in 1979 on a trip north when I was 17. Rockin beach breaks 4 to 6 foot for 2 days. There are real SUP gems within 30 minutes drive either way.You won't regret moving to that area surfwise. See if the local boards still have extreme nose lift and pin shaped outlines. The locals were all riding them back then. The older I get the better that trip was.

Did you get from a guy at St Kilda Market? I saw it or one just like it last weekend. Good shot!

I got it from my friend Anne for Christmas..and Mark Grey (the photographer) is her son.

I caught up with Mark today and we talked about taking photos and he's also keen to try SUP..I lent him one of the SUP how-to dvds to watch.

This is his site.. www.markgray.com.au/
