I am interested in getting a white deck pad for a new SUP as I believe it will look the best. Does anyone have a white deck pad (or have you seen one)? If yes, do they start to look grubby/dirty after a while?

My Starboard sport tech finish has a white deck pad as did a Naish Glide and Mana that I briefly owned. The only thing that seemed to leave permanent stains were my wet suit booties and Yarra River mud.

Hi, thanks for the prompt response. Would you recommend getting a white one or should I stick to black?

White is heaps cooler which can reduce the chance of heat damaging the board.

When I first saw the new Naish boards with their white deck pads I thought "what were they thinking"

Now I think it was a smart move.. Dark coloured deck pads get so hot on a sunny and hot windless day.

I chased around today and picked up a couple of 12' Naish demo boards for Danny and Sue that have come down from Queensland for the Port Phillip Cup race.

These boards looked like they'd gone to hell and back.. Filthy and grubby.. I took them home.. gave them and good scrub and took these pics.

With a little elbow grease and some soap and water.. and a little help from the Magic Eraser.. those things are amazing.. anyway they cleaned up like new.

So don't let white deck pads put you off because they do clean up ok

Ive got the white grip on my 9'5 Mana.
Dont know why but it seems to get slippery between surfs for some reason. My other SUPs dont have this problem. I use all the boards equally but the PSH and the older style Naish grip dont have this problem.
I now rub a coupla handfulls of beach sand onto the white grip before I go out and it solves the problem.

White anything to do with surfing gets dirty. It cleans up fine with a cream cleanser and a bit of elbow grease.

My entire board is a white mat finish. I just clean the worst marks off from time to time. Even paddle scuffs come off with no damage to the paint.
