There was a post on here a year ago of a guy surfing the 12'6" fly race white in Sydney somewhere or maybe it was Charlie in the UK? I was surprised how well he was going in head high waves. I cannot find it now? I have surfed mine in on some waist high ones and I am 96kg and it works great for a Bop board.

Just stick a 9-10" dolphin shaped fin in and Bob's your uncle.

I've surfed mine in small 1-2ft waves when not much else was happening. Had a blast. Best fun. Used the standard fin. No video though.

I have to agree with the others.
I had a chance to play about on one for a few days at the Mambo this year in all types of conditions and to be fair it handled really well, it was the wood not the carbon with a plastic 10 inch dolphin. Nice in side chop and great into a head wind. I surfed it to waist high and it was awesome. It is great for in and out work and really stable, I'm 95kgs and it was just about perfect.
If I can unload my 14r ( advertised in the buy and sell ) I will be on the look out for one. PT might have some vid of me from mambo on the 12'6.
Cheers Scott

I think Waterhorse logged 30+ hours on the Fanatic 12'6"at Merimbula.

Everytime I hit the water, there he was on...? You guessed it

I saw him catch some decent [long] waverides on it.

Good one Mark

Yes I did capture you on a couple of long waves but unfortunately my focus was off - that was really a shakedown session for me with the new underwater housing and camera.

as long as the nose is out of the water it surfs good for a 12' 6' good fun allrounder

How does it go down wind? And whats this board like for the lighter weight paddler? It sounds like a great allround board for the heavier person.

Hey Phil, I have spent a bit of time now surfing both the 12'6 DC Aruda and the 14' DC Makaru. The one thing I have noticed is that if you are not paddle-fit these boards put a lot of pressure on your lower back trying to maneuver them into position. They are big beasts to swing around, so watch your back!

9" Dolphin is the go! Had my best session yet at the Bower this am. It right on high tide and it was 'paddle city' with 6 SUPS, 8 Ski's and only 2 Mals. It was great fun with everyone getting waves. Finished it off with a nice 6' set all the way through the Racecourse! Yeeew!

Sweet good to put a face to a name as it were. I could have stayed out there till dark however commitments reluctantly took precedence

as a light weight 70kg it works well downwind, great fun in small waves, but would be a handfull in anything over shoulder height, would much rather surf a sub 9ft sup in anything over shoulder height.

They are great fun to surf , you do need to get right on the tail though to prevent the nose from going under , but once you trim and get into position they fly along.
