The last down-winder that Jonathan and I did went wrong for us.. and here's a few pics.
It started like every other with near perfect conditions.. Jonathan with his big 12'6" Starboard and me with my 12' Naish.
We headed off from Port Melb and headed towards Sandy.. It was smooth with lots of runners and the North wind gusting between 20-30 knots right behind us.
The wind then kicked in from the West and a huge west swell soon followed and with a North and West swell hitting together it then turned into a huge washing machine.
As we got near Sandy it started to clean up a little and we started to catch runners again but for about an hour in the middle section it was get up and fall.. and get up and fall.. and not much fun.
