Yeah.. It's almost summer weather here today.. The sun is shining and the wind is honking in a perfect north direction for a down-winder.. Should be good..

Just in case anyone's wondering.

Yesterdays down-winder was a beauty.. .. 30-40 knots in the gusts and the perfect direction the whole way.

Going through 'The gates of Hell' and the end as we enter the Sandy marina is the cherry on top.. Those who've done it will know what I mean..

Jonathan and I were almost planing on flat water without paddling.. Really.. It's amazing.. I think the wind funnels and the 30-40 knots almost doubles in strength.

Haro and Mark missed out by going around the other (safer) way.. .. Right Jonathan?..

Here's a great vid from Sam in Hawaii showing just what it's like surfing runners going down wind.. Click here..

Thats awesome video DJ ..... CHEERS !

Would be nice if this yr's Mambo could produce those conditions!

You can see why a 14ft and above makes it easier to catch ,but I'll just keep plugging along with my Naish 11'6 ..... one day I'll have a 14fter as that's looks unreal!
