Any thoughts appreciated...

My training is just simply "stand in the train and balance" (practicing downwind footwork) as it rocks side to side, accelerates and brakes.

I'm replaying in my mind the "seemingly relaxed" downwind footwork seen on the videos on seabreeze.

The train I catch is an express and hits top speed on some long sections where it doesn't stop for many stations...bit of a buzz... I even still get some reading in...

By the way, I've done a few downwind events and almost gave it up because of my crap balance... Probably should try another board other than my 14'x24.75' Fanatic.

If you would rather look like a weirdo at home instead of on the train then get yourself a Bosu ball. It's one of those half swissball/gym ball things and they are great for balance. Try standing on it flipped either way at first then progress to single leg then start performing movements such as squats or weight exercises whilst standing on it.

Sounds good. Thanks... I get around the weirdness factor by just reading while I'm standing just like any other commuting zombie...anyways I haven't had any judgemental stares yet..
