Friday forecast is 40 knots during the morning, tending west. What about Pt Cook to Sandy, might even be able to catch up with our friendly tug-boat driver crossing the channel. The car swap is a real pain but it could be epic! Better join SUP Vic fast for the insurance!!

I might be interested, I'd need to sort out a board though. How far is that?

Scaling off the map it looks to be about 17k. Don't know exactly where we can launch from but I'm sure we can sort that out. If there is more north in it Ricketts is probably the place to aim for, that would be about 21k. Either way in 40 knots it won't take long!

40 knots and real seas. Not that little chop you get on the Northerly paddles.
My Oxbow 9'6" would almost be the board of choice! I rekon it will be a real challenge and heaps of fun. I can't do it cos of work damn it!

Count me in but I recon because it will be Nor'west we cound go from Port Melb (where we parked when we did our tug-boat trip) and head straight for Sandy.

They expect 100 kph winds gusts.. .. It may be my first down-winder in a wettie..

Forecast for Friday
Winds: West to northwesterly 20 to 30 knots increasing to 25 to 35 knots around
dawn then tending westerly up to 40 knots during the morning. Seas: Up to 2
