Who's up for a dw paddle today? It will be a good run from the seaway to maimi or currumbin and with 30 plus knot it could be all time. If anyone keen give me a buzz this morning 0418722928. Could be a good day to test your board Lacey

You should have gone the old "slop bash" (bash through the slop), and turn around and come home !

Did it in Torquay this arvo into a relatively stiff breeze, and came home with some waist height runners. Ended up as more fun than paddling into the wind on flat water!

Harbour Master on the iPhone is mildly addictive also !

I'm interested in what sort of board you would use for this style of out and back paddling. Would your normal downwinder style boards still be the idea shape given than more than 50% of your time is actualy going "upwind".

Thanks

Yes, Naish 14 Downwinder. Nose seems to punch up and over reasonably well. Punches through rolling ocean white wash quite well.

It's no holiday though !! It's a solid little work out, for a fleeting downwind run !!
