Stay with me on this one....

Just been looking on Google Maps for an uncrowded holiday spot around Vicco during Easter that I could paddle to on my SUP and live off the fat of the land.

I think this one is a winner. Probably just need a tent, drinking water, matches, fishing rod and a sleeping bag and maybe a frying pan to survive easter here. A juicer would be good but there is no power.

Snake Island - looks idyllic. Just a short 12km paddle from Port Welshpool. You would want to make sure the tide is going out on the way there and coming in on your return though.

I'll probably need the 14' Naish for this one - as it's a fair bit of gear I have to take. Thinking about it, probably better off with one of those starboard aircraft carriers so I can also bring some beer as well.

Can you draw me a pretty map, complete with smelly zones to avoid?

If you want some adventure try going out at Winkie or Bells on your sup over Easter. That should be real exciting, and not too far to paddle out either. Make sure you say hi to the friendly locals as you paddle past them.

Sounds like a great idea. I'll stick a go pro on my head and post the video here.

Yep good plan. I'll be interested to see if the go pro stays on your head or ends up in some other part of your anatomy. Could be the best Bells footage ever.

i dont know if you saw this in the latest issue of smorgasboarder, but towards the end of last year, a few of us got together and headed up a river to camp for the night, taking all our gear on our boards.

Boards Used:
2011 Naish glide 14
2012 naish glide 14
2 x 12'6 Coreban Alpha race
12'6 Jimmy Lewis Slice

I know Peter has started planning a second overnight tour soon, would be great to get more people on the next adventure!

If you want to really get away from it all.....and the ocean conditions are suitable.
Go to Wonboyne Lake, just north on NSW / Vicco border.....paddle out the bar and head south into Nadgee Nature Reserve.
Beautiful beaches and estuaries and I would be extremely surprised if you saw another person the whole trip.
Fishing is incredible.
Paddle around 5km to the first estuary (Merrica River), plenty more beyond that if you are really adventurous!!
Better take an EPIRB and register with NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service.
