Any suggestions for the rocker on the skinny one?
Its length is 14' x 26.5" concave deck very high rails, design aimed @ flat water, but then it would slide along nice on down wind runs......with apropriate rocker.
The other board is 9' x 27 & a bit, a replacement for my current 9"5" x 28"

Hi Dean.. Those boards look great.. I love the look of the down-winder.

They look finished and ready to glass.. I don't see how you could change the rocker at this stage.. btw.. What's the bottom like on the big board.. Flats/concaves/V's ?

Fin possition will be tricky (IMO)

Hi David,
Yes the basic shaping is done, but eps is quite "flopy" when no stringer is used.
When I glass the bottom, a rocker jig can be used to set the curve untill the epoxy has cured. Rather than make up a new hot wire profile, boards can be shaped economically from standard 8' x 4' x 4" sheet, 2 sheets joined, made the 2 boards, $70 each.
Bottom is flat, rail to rail, nose to tail, just soft rails @ the nose third, I dont think there is a need for tail vee to promote turning...its not a board for turning, just low drag/effort paddling. Although it could be a handy board to use for paddling into the bombs of Torquay......but 14' long, 12' would be better......thats next on the list.

Sorry this doesnt help i know but if this who i think ive been following your boats since moving to Aus in 1990.

Hi Robert,
Well I don't know about the"fame" bit, but yes I have built 4 Farriers, many say you'd have to have rocks in your head to do 2, so there must be something between the ears...not brains....maybe epoxy dust?
I am seriously considering doing the F-39.....I don't know if I'm young enough to keep pushing the long board, maybe I should do a 22?
Formula 40's ......I have a mate that sails them for a crust, Nick Molony, a Jan Juc local.
The shot is the F-32 done last year, havent sailed it much yet, was planning to sail around here & paddle from the boat at Roadknight & Torquay but the weather has been a bit unreliable & there are few places to hide if it blows up from the east.

Cheers
Dean
