but honestly bouncing a SUP

I thought that's what a paddles for?
but hey could of been a comp thing.

Sure, guilty of it myself occasionally and you're probably right about the paddle.
I'm thinking it comes from having short board background, could be wrong but does it matter?

I do it sometimes because its fun, if there are little bumps from a boat that just went by or wind, i can get air from it.
