Hey Casso,

Saturday I was not there but SUPLove may be able to fill us in. There were 2 races on that day, a 2 person relay and a normal race.

Sunday there was a good turn out of SUPs and prone paddle boards including Secret Agent and his secret tri-hull 16' SUP! Should've brought the cat down and we could of held a multihull division!

It was a race day we have been waiting for a very looooong time. Near perfect downwind surfing conditions from longreef to palmy. The C4 Vortice XP comes into its own in these type of conditions. I traded runs with Jackson English for 3/4 of the race who was on a kracka prone raceboard and considered as good as JM until Avalon when things got all messed up, lots of backwash and couldn't link the runs and thats when Jackson pulled away.
It was good to finally get a win under the belt and $100 to spend at Sams shop, thanks Sam!

Final results for Sunday were:

Pronies
E17 102 1 Jackson English 2:26:30
E8 108 2 Sebastien Hartog 3:05:30

SUPs
E1 104 1 Simon Dodd 2:33:59 Standup
E26 105 3 Jamie Loveridge 2:49:11 Standup
E3 106 2 Stuart Murray 2:54:02 Standup
E25 107 4 Will Anido 2:59:30 Standup
E18 DNF DNF Darren Pease DNF Standup

In Sunday's long race or Saturday's short(er) race?

I thought they were discouraging 12' boards for the long race by only having under 14' and unlimited divisions.

Both Naish's Casso. Great first up run with a few runners but she was a hot and sweaty race but I was stoked with the glide of the new Naish even in the flat. 9.5 km in just about 58mins makes the big 17 quite a bit faster than the 14.

Sunday would have been a lot of fun but Pete, Andy and myself could only do the one day racing and it looks like we picked the wrong one. With the change of days at short notice pulling 2 sickies in a row was a bit much.

Sam.

The long course was originally for the 14's and up but it looks the guys on the shorter boards did pretty well. Bloody well actually with Jamie paddling an 11'6" GSI Kalama in to 2nd place. Awesome effort.
