I put my dearly beloved 11'2'' into the reef a couple of weeks a go and now she's in for a nose job. Two weeks without a paddle is doing my head in but the only thing saving me is the forum. The only problem is reading all these posts about the psh boards is I think I want one!
In all seriousness there seems to be a great vibe about this forum and the sup community in general. I reckon that this is one of the best things about this sport. I have met some top people out on the water and also through sea breeze. But hopefully in the next week or so I'll be doing less reading through these posts and spending more time on the water again.
By the way, anyone heading south over the school holidays?
Just back from a week down south.
Sharing Huzza's with one local on day one.
Huzzas alone on a 11'2''on day two.
Subsequently 3 short boarders joined me at huzza's for a third day.
North point day three, joined by a solitary paddler on a 9'8?
The SB 11'2''is difficult to describe to non believers.
Nine tenths of waves are wasted by short boarders.
At least 40% are wasted by mals.
The 11'2'' can be thrown around to great
affect and glides to places you used to wish you could go.
Nose rides, walking, swooping cutbacks...and a firm steady base to relax and wait for the next set.
PS. If you launch at Eagle Bay and paddle to Rocky Point it is much easier than
walking that long hot track.
My best surf ever?
probably
